The Purepower non-executive board members are:

Andrew Bostock - Chairman

Andrew is an engineer with over 21 years of operational, technical and commercial experience in the energy sector, latterly as Technical Director of Dana Petroleum plc, a position he held until June 2006. Andrew began his career at Shell International and subsequently held increasingly senior positions at Enterprise Oil, Talisman Energy and Venture Production before being appointed to the Board of Dana in 2001. He joined Purepower in July 2007 and is also a non executive director of Petroceltic International plc, an AIM listed business. 

David Morrison

David is Chief Executive of Prospect Investment Management Ltd, a venture capital investment business based in London. PIM acts on behalf of an institutional investor, which is a substantial shareholder in Purepower. 

Marco Dell’Aquila

Marco is the Chairman and founder of Power Capital an advisory and development firm that specialises in providing advice to companies in the energy sector. Formerly Editor-in-Chief and co-founder of Infrastructure Journal, Marco has 20 years experience spanning the conventional and renewable energy sectors as well as oil and gas. 


Executive Team

Purepower has assembled a strong and capable management team comprising experienced power and process industry professionals with over 100 years experience in developing, building and operating power plants with companies such as: Alstom, CEGB, Enron, Fluor, Gaz de France, Intergen, BP, NEL Power, Rolls-Royce and RWE. The team has a long track record of working together.

Adam Overfield - Chief Executive Officer

Adam is an engineer with over 26 years experience in the power sector, and trained originally in the CEGB. He then worked for Enron for 9 years taking lead roles in the O&M of the landmark 1.7GW Teesside CCGT project and leading the 550MW Saras IGCC project in Italy. He became Head of Enron’s European Asset Management business with responsibility for a portfolio of nearly 1.5GW of power plants. Subsequently he joined RWE/Innogy’s nascent non-wind renewable energy business. 

Ian Johnson - Chief Financial Officer

Ian is a Chartered Certified Accountant with over 16 years experience in the power sector. He joined Purepower in August 2008 as Chief Finance Officer. Prior to that he was CFO for one of Turkey’s most important independent power producers for a decade. Ian trained as an accountant at Yorkshire Electricity and was latterly a Director within Enron responsible for transaction support. 

Tony Byrne - Technical Director

Tony is a senior engineer with extensive power and process industry experience, and joined Purepower in July 2008 as Head of Asset Management. Prior to this he acted as a consultant in Asset Management, EPC and Project Development for major energy companies, including InterGen, EdF and BP Alternative Energy. Previously Tony was a Director of Enron’s Asset Management and Engineering Services group working on the development and Asset Management of power projects in Europe, the Middle East, Australia and Japan. He has also held a number of project and operations posts within Enron’s 1.7GW Teesside project and BASF.

David Halfpenny - Commercial Director

David is an experienced power project developer who has extensive knowledge of the electricity market. He joined Purepower in October 2007 as the Development Manager responsible for creating and building a pipeline of project opportunities in the UK. Prior to joining the company he was a project manager for Gaz de France responsible for greenfield power project development  and acquisitions. Previously he established and ran the technical services group of NEL Power and before that he spent seven years at Enron undertaking various technical assignments.
