About Purepower

Purepower is a private company, backed by a significant institutional equity investor.  As a team we are committed to building Purepower to be one of the most important suppliers of biomass energy nationwide.

Our vision is to become the leading independent UK developer and owner of small scale biomass based renewable energy projects.

Purepower boasts a management team with over 100 years of development, construction and operations experience of conventional and renewable power plants.

Purepower has developed a significant portfolio of renewable energy projects; the first of which is in the East of England, where Purepower has:

  • acquired a composting and wood processing business
  • obtained planning consent for a 3MW power plant
  • let contracts for the construction of the power plant, with commercial operations scheduled in Q1 2009.
We manage all stages of the construction process from land acquisition and planning permission to site commissioning and operation.

Often, this process is complicated and may involve many different stakeholders, however, our experienced team have the skills and breadth of expertise needed to establish and maintain relationships with influencers and decision makers.

The company intends to roll out its advanced development pipeline of 49MW at 9 sites in England by the end of 2010.
